The company

Corman Spa founded in 1947 by Corrado Mantovani, after 70 years of history and continuous evolutions linked to changes in the scenario, can now be defined as a recognized and established company in the Italian and foreign market. At the helm of the company there are Dr. Guido Mantovani and Dt. Giorgio Mantovani who, together, accompany Corman in his growth path,

In its factories, all located in Italy, Corman produces hypoallergenic feminine hygiene products made of 100% cotton and incontinence, also in cotton and hypoallergenic.

In Italy, in addition to the production of products for feminine absorbency, and the distribution of electromedical devices (Omron and Medipresteril), Corman offers its customers a range of products for dressing (Medipresteril), feminine intimate hygiene (Multi-Gyn) and sweetening (Diet Sucaryl) as well as the distribution of insulin delivery systems thanks to the collaboration established with Becton Dickinson BD (Micro Fine) and the distribution of systems for blood glucose control of the Abbot Diabetes Care line.

In addition to Italy, since 2008 Corman has been distributing abroad its products dedicated to female absorbency, in particular under the Organyc and Cottony brands.

France, Canada, Australia and China are just some of the more than 25 countries in which the company operates today.

In 2010 Corman USA was born, a branch of the company entirely dedicated to the development of the absorbency market in the United States.

Corman also manages logistics activities through the subsidiary company Logicor Srl.

Goal

Since 2010 Technolog has been accompanying Corman as a technological partner for the creation of solutions for intralogistics and over the years there have been many needs that have stimulated the birth of new projects, the most significant of which are:
– The creation of a single warehouse of raw materials for the enslavement of all production lines has highlighted the need to computerize and automate the processes of warehouse management
– The relocation of all production lines in a single site has generated the need to redesign the processes of line enslavement, optimizing the sharing of space without sacrificing performance
-The awareness of the importance of production data analysis has stimulated the desire to implement a data collection system for production monitoring

Realization

For the management of the raw materials warehouse, whSystem, the WMS produced and distributed by Technolog, has been implemented.

The proposed solution, which provides for the usual management of the main warehouse management processes, is characterized by the creation of the QC module through which all quality control activities are carried out and traced, as well as the collection and digitization of quality certifications of raw materials that require it.

The need to optimize the enslavement spaces of the sharing lines has led to the implementation of a partialized line enslavement algorithm while maintaining constant balancing of the exploitation of the area dedicated to line servo buffers and the necessary stock of each reference to ensure production continuity.

Another characteristic aspect of this project was the implementation of an MES module for the final accounting of production issues and consumption, as well as monitoring of stops and anomalies, management of the traceability of raw materials used for each batch of finished product, up to the production payment. The MES module integrates with the ETL module that processes and normalizes the data acquired by field sensors installed on the lines for the detection of stops, rejects and production.
